Early Years

Our Early Years Foundation Stage lies at the very heart of St. Martin’s Primary School, where we believe the earliest stages of learning are truly where the magic begins. Our EYFS unit consists of our Nursery (Little Parrots) along with 2 Reception classes (Chicks and Ducklings).

We are passionate about providing a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures every aspect of a child’s development through a holistic, play-based approach. By placing the unique child at the centre of everything we do, we carefully tailor our curriculum to meet the individual needs of our children, ensuring learning is both engaging and meaningful. Through a thoughtful blend of child-initiated exploration and adult-guided experiences, we create rich opportunities that inspire curiosity, foster creativity and build independence, supporting each child to grow into a confident and enthusiastic learner.

At St. Martin’s, we are proud to offer high-quality indoor and outdoor environments that encourage children to develop key skills while nurturing a genuine love of learning. Our highly trained staff work alongside every child, guiding and supporting them to achieve their very best. From exploring nature and the wider world, to developing communication, friendships and physical skills, our curriculum is designed to promote confidence, resilience and a strong sense of self.

We hope our website gives you a clear insight into what we offer and how we strive to give every child the very best start to their educational journey.
