Vision

Jesus said ‘I have come that you may have life, life in all its fullness. (John 10:10)

Jesus wants us all to flourish, to be the best we can be. These words from John 10:10 come at the end of a passage where Jesus describes himself as the Good Shepherd, who takes care of his sheep and keeps them safe.

By knowing Jesus is with us, we are more ready to take risks, make mistakes and be open to try things because we know that he is there to set us on our feet again. That trust, hope and promise allows us to experience life in all its fullness.

We use the Church of England’s Vision for Education, with Jesus’ promise at its heart. Our core Christian values are love, hope, kindness, grace, faith and mercy. These are embedded within our school vision statement of, ‘Being the best we can be for ourselves, each other and God’s world’.

The Word of God underpins our core Christian values.

Love ‘Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.’ John 13:34

Mercy ‘Stop being bitter and angry and mad at others. Don’t yell at one another or curse each other or ever be rude. Instead, be kind and merciful, and forgive others, just as God forgave you because of Christ.’ Ephesians 4:31-32.

Faith ‘Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.’Hebrews 11:1

‘We walk by faith, not by sight.’  2 Corinthians 5:7

Grace ‘Blessed to be a blessing’ Genesis 12:2

Hope ‘Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.’ Psalm 31.24

‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him’ Romans 15:13

Kindness ‘What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?’ Micah 6:8
