School Improvement Monitoring
The Governing Board plays an important role in monitoring the progress made on the School Improvement Plan (SIP). Governors discuss and approve the plan at the start of the school year and then allocate themselves in small teams to a particular area of the SIP. They follow an agreed cycle of work to monitor progress in their specific area during the school year. This cycle of work is described in the Governor Monitoring Form which governors use to record outcomes and actions on a termly basis. At the end of the summer term, a SIP Review session is held where governors meet with the staff who are leading on the SIP and discuss successes, challenges and next steps. The outcomes of these discussions are then fed into planning for the next year’s SIP and are recorded in the school’s annual SIP Report.
