Pop-up Prayer Space

In school we use the slightly amended acronym from Peter Greig’s books – ‘How to Pray – A guide for Young Explorers’

P = Pause – this gives us all time to stop, think and reflect.

R= Rejoice – there is no doubt, for anyone who has been in one of our singing assemblies that we understand the power of rejoicing to enable us to flourish.

A= Ask Jude, our school chaplain has invited children to contribute their prayers to our communal prayer box. She and others will spend time in quiet reflection and enable the children’s prayers to be heard.

Y= Peter Greig says the Y = Yes; but at St Martin’s we have changed this to Yield – there are so many mysteries of faith, and so many challenges in our World, that sometimes we have to yield to believe there is a plan, and have faith even when the challenges feel overwhelming.
