The Governing Board currently has the following vacancies:

  • one vacancy for a Parent Governor – elections will be arranged next half term (Spring 2020)
  • one vacancy for a Foundation Governor. Foundation Governors have particular responsibility for upholding the Christian ethos of the school
  • one vacancy for a Local Authority Governor. The Governing Board nominates and approves a candidate on the basis of the skills/experience they can bring to the school, but the nomination has to be approved by the Local Authority (Devon County Council).

The Board is especially keen to recruit people who have skills/experience in personnel, the early years and/or who have experience of working strategically within any sector. If you would like more information on becoming a governor, please contact the Clerk to Governors, Jacqueline Brooks, at

The Governing Board is also able to appoint Associate Members on the basis of the specific skills and experience they can bring. Associate Members do not have a vote at Full Governing Board meetings and there are some restrictions on the roles they can carry out within the Board.
