Aims and ethos of Forest School Education
The children visiting the Forest School site are able to develop a life long love and understanding of the natural environment, whilst developing the core purposes of the Forest School ethos, namely, development of self-esteem, confidence and social skills.
Through a combination of carefully planned and child led activities, the children from all year groups at school, take part in Forest School. Not only developing their confidence and self- esteem it has been proven to enhance their emotional intelligence and their crucial brain’s cognitive development. In addition, the skills acquired in the forest transfer into the classroom, such skills as, determination, perseverance and periods of increased concentration, Thus enabling children to excel in all areas of their personal, academic and spiritual development.
