The Governing Board currently has two vacancies available:
- one vacancy for a Foundation Governor
- one vacancy for a Local Authority Governor
Foundation Governors have particular responsibility for upholding the Christian ethos of the school and are appointed by the Diocese of Exeter.
Local Authority Governors are appointed by the Governing Board on the basis of the skills and experience they can bring but are approved for holding office by members of the Local Authority.
Currently, the Governing Board is particularly seeking people who would be interested in working with the school in the following areas:
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion
Therefore, the Governing Board would especially welcome hearing from people who either have existing knowledge/skills in these areas or who would be willing to learn and attend training.
The Governing Board is also able to appoint Associate Members on the basis of the specific skills and experience they can bring. Associate Members do not have a vote at Full Governing Board meetings and there are some restrictions on the roles they can carry out within the Board.
