The Governing Board plays an important role in monitoring the progress made on the School Improvement Plan. Governors receive and discuss information on actions being undertaken at Teaching and Learning Committee and Full Governing Board meetings throughout the year. Further to this, the Governing Body also allocate themselves in small teams to an area of the SIP in the Autumn term and then follow an agreed cycle of work to monitor progress in their specific area during the school year. This cycle of work is described in the Governor Monitoring Form which governors complete on a termly basis. At the end of the summer term, the Chair of Governors and the Headteacher meet with the staff team and the governor team for each area of the SIP (SIP Review Day) and discuss successes, challenges and next steps. The outcomes of these discussions are then fed into planning for the next year’s SIP and are recorded in the school’s annual SIP Report.
